Rose Tremain, co-owner of the Rose-Dore Salon, began her career in 1981 after graduating from Speedway Academy of Hair.
Rose knew she wanted to be a hair stylist early. She would go to the beauty shop with her mom and watch everyone enjoying their jobs; young Rose thought it would be great to get paid to do a job she enjoyed doing.
She was right, it is GREAT to get paid for syling hair, a job she loves. Just one flash of her winning smile and you'll be smiling too, her joyful nature is infectious.
She first worked with Doreen Lowery, her fellow Rose-Dore co-owner, back in 1986. Both were highly skilled sylists who kept very busy. Neither can remember who first suggested opening a salon together. Both remember the excitement they felt the first time they looked at 3902 West 86th Street. They knew this house in the woods would be perfect for their salon and set about making it happen.
Tremain still loves her job and looks forward to working with old and new friends every day. Her studio is located on the lower level of the Rose-Dore.
